"Who Am I?" Original Artwork 60x60cm
“Who Am I?” Original Artwork
What does this painting mean to me?
This one is personal. Not only because it is a self-portrait but also because there is a whole journey of identity crises attached to it. The reference picture was taken while I still had long hair. Shortly after, I made the decision to cut my hair short. While some of you may say “hair is just hair, it grows back”, this was a major step for me in expressing and accepting myself. I now look at this painting and I see a person that is and is not me. Of course, I recognise myself, yet I know that the person portrayed is completely different to who I am now. I love how much past, journey, and present shines through in this self-portrait.
Medium: Oil on Primed MDF
Size: 60x60cm
Each original painting will be fully varnished.
